How to Assign Training Disciplines to Staff
Assign training disciplines to staff members through the Human Resources personnel section.
Overview
Once you've created job disciplines, you need to assign them to your staff members. This assignment happens through the Human Resources section, not directly in the Training area. After assigning disciplines, staff members will appear in the training profile table where you can manage their individual training certificates and records.
Before assigning disciplines, make sure you've created your job disciplines. See How to Create Job Disciplines if you need to set these up first.
Accessing Personnel Records
To assign training disciplines to staff:
- Go to Main Menu → Human Resources → Personnel
Assigning Disciplines
To assign training disciplines to a staff member:
- From the personnel table, click the Edit button for the staff member you want to assign training to
- Scroll down to the Training Details section
- Under User Disciplines, click Add New
- Select the discipline(s) you want to add to this person
- Scroll to the bottom and click Update and Close
Multiple Disciplines
Each member of staff can have multiple disciplines assigned. For example, a staff member might have:
- An "All Staff" discipline for general training requirements that apply to everyone
- A specific role-based discipline (e.g., "Electricians") for their particular job function
This allows you to combine common training requirements with role-specific ones for each staff member.
What Happens Next
Once you've assigned user disciplines to your staff, they will appear in the training profile table. From there, you can use the edit button to fill in each person's training record, upload certificate files, and input certificate numbers and expiry dates.
