How to Use Access Milestones on Access Tasks

Flag milestones as access milestones so you can update progress from the access task as well as from a report.

Overview

Access milestones let the rest of your team see how site access is progressing, using the same milestone data that appears in reports. Once a milestone is flagged as an access milestone, you can update it from the access task instead of opening a report each time.

If you need to create the milestone first, see How to Create a Milestone. Status options on that milestone are set up separately — see How to Add Options and Statuses to Milestones.

Flagging a Milestone as an Access Milestone

  1. Go to Main Menu → Milestones.
  2. Open the milestone you want to use for access tracking.
  3. Under Flags, set it as an access milestone.
  4. Save the milestone.

You can flag more than one milestone this way. Each access milestone then appears on the related access tasks so you can update them in the same place you manage the request.

Updating Progress from the Task

Go to Main Menu → Tasks → Access, open a task, and set the access milestone values there. That keeps access progress visible to people who work from the task list, while reports still show the same milestone data.

Teams who prefer to manage access from a Live Report can still do so. See How to Manage Site Access Using Reports.
