How to Create Location Leads
Set up people, offices, and vehicles as asset locations.
Overview
Location Leads represent where your assets live or who's responsible for them. When you assign an asset to a Location Lead, you can quickly filter and find equipment by person, vehicle, office, or store. Before creating assets, you'll need to set up your Location Leads.
Accessing Location Leads
Go to Main Menu → Assets → Location Leads.
Types of Location Leads
People
Assign assets to specific team members. For example, a technician might be the Location Lead for their personal harness and tools.
- Click "Add New" in the top corner
- Select Person
- Choose a user from the dropdown (this list comes from your Personnel section)
- Click Save
Note: If someone isn't in the dropdown, add them to your Personnel section first.
Offices
Set up offices or depots as locations for equipment storage.
- Click "Add New"
- Select Office
- Enter an office name
- Select an address from your company address book
- Click Save
Vehicles
Vehicles are automatically added as Location Leads when you create them. You don't need to manually add vehicles to the Location Leads list. This lets you assign tools and equipment to specific vans or cars.
Common Use Cases
- Personal PPE - Assign harnesses and helmets to individual technicians
- Van tools - Keep a toolbox assigned to a specific vehicle
- Office equipment - Track test equipment stored at a depot
