How to Add SLAs to Milestones
Set service-level targets from a source milestone using business days forward or backward.
Overview
SLAs on milestones show whether work was completed within a target time after (or before) another milestone. A source milestone triggers the SLA on the milestone you are editing.
How to Access
Open a milestone for editing, then select the SLA tab on the left.
Setting Up an SLA
- Tick Has SLA.
- Select the source milestone that triggers this SLA.
- Choose whether the source uses Forecast or Actual.
- Enter the number of days and select day type (for example, business days).
- Save the milestone.
When someone logs the actual date on this milestone, XMP shows whether the SLA was met.
Example: Invoice After HOPs Accepted
To invoice within three business days after HOPs are accepted:
- On an Invoice Prepared milestone, you can set the source to a HOPs Accepted milestone with Actual.
- Set 3 days and business days.
The SLA now automitally calculates and shows that your Invoice Prepared milestone should be completed three days after HOPs Accepted.
Example: Kit Ordered Before Build Start
To require kit be ordered at least two days before build start forecast:
- On a Kit Ordered milestone, you can set the source to a Build Start Date milestone with Forecast.
- Set -2 days and business days.
The SLA now automitally calculates and shows that your Kit Ordered milestone should be completed two days before Build Start Date.
