Understanding Milestone Data Types
Choose the right milestone type — date, currency, number, or dropdown — for what you need to track.
Overview
Each milestone uses a data type that controls what your team enters and how it appears in reports. The date type is the most common; currency, number, and dropdown types suit other tracking needs.
Date
The main type you will use. Set a forecast and an actual date for when you plan to complete a step and when it was actually done.
Currency
Track monetary values with a specific denomination and decimal places. Numbers you enter are formatted as currency — useful for quote amounts, invoice amounts, and similar figures.
Number
Log a numeric amount, such as how many revisits a site has had, how many QA loops a design needed, or how many field engineers to send to a site.
Dropdown
Use the Add Option button to define dropdown choices for very specific inputs. Often it is better to use a date type with Options settings instead — that gives you both a date field and a dropdown.
Remarks
Remarks let you add free-text notes about progress — for example, why a step is delayed or a key note about a client.
