How to Add Departments in XMP
Create and customise departments and optionally link shift patterns in Company HR Settings.
Overview
Departments organise your personnel and can link to shift patterns. XMP includes a handful of default departments; you can add any structure that fits your business — for example, separate Finance and Commercial departments, or a single combined department.
How to Access
Go to Main Menu → Human Resources → Company HR Settings, then open the Departments tab on the left.
Adding a Department
- Click to add a new department.
- Enter the department name.
- If your departments use different shift patterns, select from the Shift Pattern dropdown — for example, one pattern for office workers and another for field workers.
- Save your changes.
Shift patterns themselves are managed under the Shift Patterns tab in the same area. See How to Configure Shift Patterns.
